Basic experience with the technology. Developer knows the syntax but didn’t work with this technology before. In advanced structures has to use help of available documentation and/or search engines like Google.

Good knowledge of technology structures. Is capable of implementing defined algorithm on his/her own. Aware of how to apply it and its possibilities but frequently has to seek help in available documentation. Knows basic of debugging, get’s around in developers environment without help.
VERY GOOD
Very good knowledge. Single-handedly proposes optimal ways of implementing solutions, uses project patterns and advanced structures. His/her code is transparent, style coherent and is easy to test and maintain. Knows how to use debugging and optimization tools.
EXPERT
Knows technology through. Offers unconventional solutions. Capable of not only programming but also knows why certain solutions are better than others, knows ‘under hood’ details of how this technology works. Follows news in this field and tries to implement them in his/hers daily work. Active in the community, might have a very narrowed skills and specs.
